We would like to translate eBuddy into many different languages so everyone can use eBuddy in their own language. Hopefully you can help us out! We have created this eBuddy Wiki with an English template for the website, the mobile and the web application. You can fill in the blanc cells and/or improve current translations. If you have contributed to a translation please add your name to the contributers list so we know who to thank!
First you need to log on to the Wiki. You can find the login button on the right end of this page.
Thanks and Good luck!
The eBuddy Translation Team

Dear eBuddy Translation Team,
I hereby proudly announce that eBuddy is now available in 37 languages!!! Check it out!!! This is only possible thanks to your great work. You can be proud being a eBuddy Translator since no other web based IM application is available in more different languages than eBuddy.
Nevertheless, we can add even more…
Of the 37 available languages, 25 languages are 100% complete(!) and 5 more just need only a few minor translations to be made: Chinese (simplified), French, Persian, Slovenian, and Vietnamese. Sadly, some other languages such as Irish don’t really work out so please help us out with those ones and help eBuddy becoming available for Everyone, Everywhere!!
Many thanks and enjoy the feeling
Cheers,
Marc
Update 15 March
Dear eBuddy Translation Team,
First of all I want to thank you all with the completion of the latest translations. At the moment 14 (!!!) different languages are fully supported.
All this is thanks to your work. You are the ones that create eBuddy in your own language.
Besides thanking you for all the great translation work that you have done, I would like to ask you to put some effort in the remaining languages. There are 14 languages, such as Arabic, that are almost done and a little more work could finish the translation.
Furthermore, in the future, when new eBuddy features and thus new translations are added, I will send you a notification. If you don’t want to receive this notification, please let me know by mailing me and I will remove you from the list.
Many thanks again for all your great work!
Marc
Dear eBuddy Translators,
I noticed that some minor mistakes are regularly made, so hereby I would like to give you some advise:
1) before you start translating your language, please practice on the specially designed Playground It happens often that a Translator’s work is lost after many efforts and that’s just too harsh to live with…
2) Please don’t translate words such as AOL, eBuddy, eBuddy ID, GTalk, MSN, MYSPACE, Yahoo! But leave ‘brand’ names as they are.
3) While translating, please don’t translate the %s in for example: and add %s to my Messenger List All translations you make, are the actual translations that will be placed in the eBuddy applications. Keys such as %s mean that in that place, a user name or status is placed in the actual application so please leave them in your translation.
If you guys have any questions/remarks/advise/anything, please leave me a message on the message board or send me an e-mail I will get back to you a.s.a.p.
Thanks again for all your great work!
Ciao,
Marc
